HONDA V4 CROSS TOURER

Sharing the phenomenal V4 engine and the revolutionary Dual Clutch Transimission with the VFR1200F, the V4 Crosstourer Concept will deliver all the fun and excitement of a road sports bike; but with the comfortable upright riding position and manoeuvrability of an adventure machine.

The VFR1200F was the first model to utilize the new iconic V4 engine that signified the beginning of the new era in Honda’s engine line-up. The V4 Crosstourer Concept will utilise the same engine as the Road Sport category VFR to bring the benefits of this world-beating engine to a new type of customer. This will be the first time an Adventure Tourer bike has been fitted with a compact and powerful four cylinder V-engine unit.

The riding experience will be further enhanced with the V4 Crosstourer Concept being developed with the revolutionary Dual Clutch Transmission that gives seamless gear changes for a sport riding feel. The new bike is the second Honda to be fitted with this innovative transmission system after the VFR1200F and it is the first time this award-winning technology has been seen in this category.

Honda has always strived to bring innovative designs and innovative technology to our motorcycle customers. As a company famed for challenging conventional motorcycle thinking, Honda is committed to producing bikes which fulfil the needs and desires of our customers.

Can ask Alvin for an after market Exhaust System...
Or AH Liu for a 90 deg joint...
Ha ha..

Think Just need to cross the tiny stream in Mae Hong Son..
And able to handle a bit of road construction... & mud road.

Looks like it has the GS beak and the Super Tenere kind of body. Maybe thats where the name "Cross Tourer" is derived from? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Coming from Honda, it should be a very realiable touring bike but will cost quite a bit. My guess? somewhere beween the GS1200 and the Super Tenere.

Looks like one of those transformers from the nose..
Don't mine if mine can become a plane or limousine, even pickup if the need arises... ha ha..

(IMG:http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/gallery/honda-crosstourer-concept/honda-crosstourer-concept-3.jpg)

Touring bikes somehow favour these boxy panniers...
Guess they started with the GS..
And these tough boxes is there to protect your legs when u slide..
Just hope u can get to underwear after a fall...
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-touguecheeky.gif)
Exhaust: Ya.. guess they are ok for stream crossing... Floods?
Depends on the depth..
As with these tourers... they are not true off roaders..
Handles some road repair or detours along the way..
Need some serious mod for the Dakar Rally...
(IMG:http://www.dakar.com/dakar/img/commun/logo_dakar.png)
Moto-V Rally.. No Problem...
Can go Vang Vien in 4 Days!\ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/arrowhead.png)

Another Report with Video

And yes.. The ENGINE...
V4 with 160 bhp
Will carry u thru....

So far from reviews of the VFR1200 V4 engine, the engine produces plenty of smooth torque, right from low down. And the engine is very compact. Makes a unique V4 sound.

The Honda OEM boxes could be of very very good quality. One of the best panniers I ever experienced is the STX1400's OEM boxes. It is very solid build quality and very well designed. Can't be said of my Yamaha OEM boxes for my FZ1 (also used in FJR).

Click for pics of The Cross Tourer

Will see if the bike goes into production.

Yes It will do well for a run to Vang Vieng...
Not a true off roader..
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/bike.gif)
What's important is it has a smooth & powderful engine.
With that many hrs on the bike... the reduction in vib sure helps.
Beside.... it won't be a giant of a machine..

Let's see.
