It was heart warming to see that there are people who are willing to spend time and effort to promote safe and healthy motorcycle riding,
This is evidence that there is heart in this place and it is not all hard commercial decisions.
3 cheers for those to volunteered to help make the HOV workshop a real experience,
Special thanks to those who made the venue available.

It was a good opportunity to meet new riders and exchange experience with season riders.

for those wondering whether it was time well spent,
there is no need to consider
even for season riders it was a welcome reality check

3 cheers for those to made it possible

Thanks Spectrum for coming down to lend your experience and safety expertise. Hope we get more lucky and coincide with your non-flying days.

Thanks x3R. Your presence is a booster.

Anodise--thanks too for volunteering to help, though in the end we had enough instructors for the class size. In the future.

Firefly, your spirit and willingness to constantly keeping an open mind and to learn, despite being a seasoned rider, is really commendable and a model to many other riders. I wish more riders are like you. Then, we may not have so many casaulties.

Sometimes, it's not really in the hands of just a few of us. I believe when safety consciousness and willingness to uplearn reach a critical mass, it becomes a de-facto thinking rather than now, it is still not the norm. So we all can do out part. By influencing others, by being role model to others, by encouraging others, by sending other people to attend classes like this. It's a long journey, but keep walking.

Both times also caused by misjudgement of the action of the biker in front. Last Friday, I was turning from slip road to a main road, I thought the way is clear from the main road, didn't expect the biker in front to stop instead of going ahead. I was afraid of colliding with him so I jam braked and the bike lost control. I fell down on my left side.

My accident in Jan last year was similar. Was travelling along road shoulder of expressway (gg to exit liao), didn't expect the bike in front to slow down so drastically. Afraid of ramming into him so I braked too hard, the bike skidded and I fell off.

Seems like a repetition of the same mistakes: not paying enough attention to the action of the vehicle in front; and not wearing the riding jacket which I have hanging at home.

Sounds like you ride with your vision trailing/following after the vehicle/bike in front of you.
Have you attended before HOV? I remembered you sent me a PM.

Hi Kckerk,

You just had a fall...We are all human. ..We are not infallible......Use this time to heal and reflect...Thank god it is not a serious accident and injury...Learn from the experience...so that you can avoid similar situations in the future...Your confidence might be affected as well...this is normal...happens to all of us...Go through the StreetSmart and HOV thread again...Re-read and reflect...Do not waste this experience...Use it as a good lesson...and you can be even better..
