DURIAN RIDE PAGOH 2010

Meet: 2nd Link Petronas
Time: 8.30am
Date: 3rd July Saturday

Will be at our regular durian stall @ the Teh Family.
Inform me that their stalls is no more shady... as the trees are cut down.
So.. Suggest we go to their durian estate which enters by a short track just before the stall.

Says next week will have more Mao-Shan-Wang durains..
Plus the usual grades..
Price: Not firm.. but be from $3 to $5 Kampong Durains to -- $13-15 (Ringgit) Mao-shan-wang..
- Heard Mao-Shan going for $25(sin) here @ Home!

But Mr Teh will give final price as date approaches.. Depends on amount available.

Breakfast @ Kulai Opposite Shell Station
Durian about 11am...

Will return after durian as one of our rider getting married in the evening.
So.. Those ta-pao.. should be ok.. straight back!

Will still... open the durain hunt all the way down the road to the Village "Bukit Pasar"
About more than 10 stalls... on that 10km stretch of road
Plus 3 in the village.
So.. take your pick..
And be not restricted to The Teh Stall..

Just had a call from The Durian Teh Family...

Price: D13 Red Meat: $7 ringgit (Rm)
Mao Shan Wang: $17 ringgit

Quality durians along the roads in Malaysia: About $8 - $12 Rm

Did ask him to give us better price... on Saturday.
As for the durians... It should be quality stuff!
We would be at his roadside stall...
But will go into is estate if the group gets bigger.. eg. 20+

This would be a good comparision on price...
Picture taken outside Sheng Song... Best Price Supermart.

Durians are fresh from the farm behind the stalls.

And we will hope to lower Mr Teh price...

Mr Teh's price is indeed lower. I have made three purchases in Malaysia these last 3 weeks, from various sources--from at Smart in JB, to MrGan Durian plantation to paddler on kup at petrol kiosk.
So far, the price of MaoShanWang (MSW) I tried are RM25-30/kg.

Besides MSW, I highly recommend the Hong2 Xia2 (chinese characters mean Red Dusk, some people called it Red Prawn). Very deeply flavoured like MSW, lots of meat, but more on the slightly bitter side. The price I tried RM20-25/kg.

It's Durian Season at Pagoh & Segamat..
And u should be able to find durians stalls from JB... All the way to KL.
But after eating for the past weeks.. in state of Johore
It's the quality of the durains!

Had some in Kulai Town.. near our breakfast joint..
D101 $7rm a kilo... Wah! Excellent!!!

He starts at 10.30am.. till 3pm only..
So.. Some may want a early start...
